Tax Rebate Scam

Suffolk police have today received a report regarding a scam email from HM Revenue & Customs stating that the recipient is eligible for a tax rebate.

The email address isĀ securemail@hmrc.gov.uk, once in the email you are asked to click on a link and a list of banks will appear. After selecting your bank you are then asked to input your bank details.

HM Revenue & Customs have been contacted and have confirmed that the email HAS NOT been sent by them.

If you receive one of these emails please delete it, do not enter any of your personal details. If you are unsure whether the email is authentic please contact HM Revenue & Customs.
